Resumen : Abstract This article analyzes the role played by the school curriculum and the challenges faced in designing and implementing it in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. We describe the experiences of some curriculum actors and argue there is a need to promote disruptive innovation in education and in the curriculum, especially in Mexico and Latin America. Specialized literature and reports by international organizations serve to open up a debate on the use of ICT, online education, and other media and communications resources as cultural artifacts that may or may not gain meaning based on a specific sociocultural context and practices. The lack of social justice and inclusion in education is discussed, as is the emergence of new subjectivities and curricular alternatives.
