Abstract

We present the relationship between international proposals of the graduation profile of engineering students and the analysis of 138 texts written by social science and engineering students. The evidence demonstrates the need to promote academic writing among engineering students, beyond the traditional courses, in accordance with the genres particular to this area of knowledge.
